Advocacy Awards

Tuesday, October 2, during Annual Business Meeting, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Credit union participation in the legislative and political process is essential for the long-term survival of our movement. Strong advocacy programs are a key piece of winning legislative battles, defending against legislative attacks and giving credit unions the opportunity to thrive. The Advocacy Awards recognize credit union grassroots participation in legislative and regulatory activities. Please join us for the ceremony celebrating the accomplishments of credit union professionals and volunteers.

Chapter Excellence Awards

Wednesday, October 3, during Keynote Session, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The Chapter Excellence Awards recognize chapters for their contributions to the success of the credit union movement in the Northwest. Each year, chapters do an outstanding job in developing and implementing creative and beneficial programs for their members. Chapter Excellence Awards are available in 5 categories: one award for each of the 4 pillars, leadership, education, advocacy, philosophy in action and one award for the overall best practices.

CUNA Awards Luncheon (by invite and advance registration only)

Denim and Diamonds: Credit Unions for Kids Auction

Wednesday, October 3, 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Get ready for a night of fun for the cause. The Denim and Diamonds Credit Unions for Kids Auction will be a highlight of the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Convention. It brings the entire credit union community together as we raise the roof and raise thousands of dollars for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Convention attendees, credit union employees and friends are invited to dress up their Miracle Jeans with our fundraising tee shirt. Have fun, find some terrific auction items and outbid your friends! Northwest credit unions established a proud tradition founding Credit Unions for Kids in 1986. Today the “Charity of Choice” helps to fund 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide. For more information and to get involved, visit the Credit Unions for Kids at Convention page.

Education Breakout Sessions

Tuesday through Thursday

Convention education sessions are specifically designed to build professional experiences that will help you achieve sustainable success at every level within your credit union. The sessions are taught by content experts who have proven knowledge and proficiency in a variety of subject areas—each of which relate to key strategic and operational areas of your credit union.

Emerging Leaders Networking Breakfast

Topics include leadership concepts, developing emotional intelligence, and generational leadership development. If you are a young credit union professional looking to advance your career within the CU movement, you won’t want to miss this event!

Impact Sessions

These interactive sessions will give you the opportunity to come face-to-face with service corporations from across the region that will save your credit union time and money. Each Impact Session is facilitated by an industry expert and comprised by many of your credit union peers. Come be inspired to innovate and grow your credit union by attending one of these sessions that will examine an area of best practice.

Miracle Jeans Day at Convention

Wednesday, October 3, all day

We’re inviting everyone to join us on Miracle Jeans Day at Convention. Show your support on October 3rd by pairing your favorite jeans with our fundraising tee shirt that asks a great question: “Do these jeans make my credit union look good?” Your credit union will look good if your attendees have 100% participation. Credit Unions for Kids is a proud Northwest tradition and everyone is invited to be a part of Miracle Jeans Day at Convention on Wednesday, October 3rd.

Registration for the $20.00 Miracle Jeans Promotional tee shirt is available until Convention; however, to specify your size, please preregister by August 3, 2012. For more information and to get involved, visit the Credit Unions for Kids at Convention page.
