About the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest!

This contest will run from January 23rd to March 1st, and the winner will be able to attend the 2013 Emerging Leaders Program tuition free!

Contest Details

  1. Nomiations: January 23rd, 2013 – February 14th, 2013
    Nominations are complete at this time, take a look at the finalists and cast your vote
  2. Three Finalists Selected: February 15th, 2013
    A panel of judges will evaluate and score each nomination based on their submission, video if applicable, reason for wanting to attend the Emerging Leading Program, as well as the benefit of the program for the applicants career and credit union. The results will be scored, and then the three applicants with the highest scores will move on to the public voting stage.
  3. Voting for the Top 3: February 15th, 2013 – February 28th, 2013
    Voting will be open to credit union professionals as well as family and friends. Applicants are encouraged to rally their co-workers, peers, as well as friends and family to vote for them. That said, only one vote per email address will be allowed.
  4. Winner Announced: March 1st, 2013
    Northwest Credit Union Association will review all of the votes and then tally the winner.

The winner of the 2013 Next Emerging Leaders Contest will be called upon to:

  • Attend the Emerging Leaders Program. Tuition will be paid for, but the winner will need to secure their own lodging and transportation. The Emerging Leaders Program will be held in SeaTac, Washington.
  • Work with our Anthem Editor to contribute five articles (one per week of class + two others before or after the course begins) to our Anthem Newsletter.
  • Follow-up with us 6-12 months after the program concludes to share how their experience with the Emerging Leaders Program has affected their career and their credit union.
  • Act as an ambassador of the program, sharing their insights and experience with the program with their credit union professional peers.

2013 Next Emerging Leader Official Contest Rules

  1. By participating in the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest, all contestant-nominees agree to be bound by the Contest Rules and the decisions of the contest judges, which will be final.
  2. The 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest is sponsored by the Northwest Credit Union Association headquartered at 33301 9th Ave South, Suite 200, Federal Way, Washington, 98003.
  3. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest.
  4. Participants in the contest may enter by completing a nomination form, or by having a nomination form completed on their behalf, between the dates of January 23 and February 14, 2013. All nominations must be received by the Association by midnight on February 14, 2013. On February 15th three finalists will be chosen and promoted on the Association’s web site. The final winner will be the candidate who receives the most votes. All voting will take place via email. Only one vote per email address will be accepted in the contest. The final winner will be announced on March 1, 2013.
  5. The winner of the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest must be eligible to participate. Eligibility includes the following criteria:
    1. nominee-contestants must work for a credit union affiliated with the Northwest Credit Union Association,
    2. nominee-contestants must be available to attend each of the three sessions scheduled for the 2013 Emerging Leader Program,
    3. nominee-contestants must be able to secure their own lodging and transportation to the 2013 Emerging Leader Program,
    4. the contest winner agrees to work with our Anthem Editor to contribute five articles (one per week of class + two others before or after the course begins) to our Anthem Newsletter
    5. nominee-contestants must be willing to share insights derived from the program with their peers.
  6. Videos submitted as part of the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest:
    1. must not contain any content that violates any third party’s intellectual property or other rights, and
    2. must not contain offensive language, as determined solely by the Association.
  7. The winner of the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest will receive a complimentary registration to the Association’s 2013 Emerging Leader program valued at $3,650. Cash will not be awarded instead of enrollment, and the award is non-transferrable.
  8. Odds of winning the contest depend upon the number of entries.
  9. Winners will be contacted via email. If the winner fails to respond within seven days, the winner will be disqualified and a new winner will be chosen from the candidates with the next highest number of votes in the contest. The winner need not be present to win.
  10. All persons nominating themselves, accepting a nomination for the contest or providing YouTube videos agree to allow the Association to use their name to publicize the outcome of the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest and the Emerging Leaders Program.
  11. The award winner may be responsible for applicable state or federal taxes on the value of the contest prize.
  12. Participants in the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest agree to hold the Northwest Credit Union Association, its affiliates and subsidiaries harmless from and against any claims and liability arising out of the 2013 Next Emerging Leader Contest.
