Job Description:

Full-time Marketing Director needed to improve the Credit Union’s competitive position, consistent with its mission, within the markets served; develop objectives, policies and programs for marketing activities of the Credit Union; plan, direct, and coordinate the efforts of marketing and sales toward the accomplishment of overall objectives; supply advice and assistance to the President and other operating units within the organization.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Directs all advertising and sales promotions. Develops advertising programs and collateral materials.
  • Directs marketing and sales planning, including an analysis of competitive products/services and selling techniques, legislation, budgets, pricing and distribution.
  • Coordinates special events; monitors planning, schedules and implementation as required for proper execution of each event. Coordinates the annual meeting, including production of reports,
  • facilities, and meeting logistics. Events may be coordinated through subordinates.

  • Develops, proposes, gains acceptance for, and implements strategic plans designed to meet the Credit Union’s short and long-term marketing objectives.
  • Directly and indirectly markets and maintains credit union information in social media.
  • Conducts market research and recommends for product/service modifications or improvements.
  • Manages member complaint/grievance response activity, specifically through social media posts and membership surveys.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
