Association Announces New Awards Program

The new program, which includes annual awards for lifetime contributions to the credit union movement, social responsibility and excellence in advocacy, will be presented at the Annual Convention.

The Association is proud to present the 2011 NWCUA Awards Program, which recognizes the professionals, volunteers, and credit unions that have made outstanding contributions to the development and growth of the credit union movement.

The new program includes annual awards for lifetime contributions to the credit union movement, social responsibility and excellence in advocacy, among others. Full descriptions can be found here.

The Awards Committee has worked diligently to provide the Northwest region with categories that reflect the service, success, and achievements of the credit union community.

“I am very excited about the Association’s Awards program,” said Committee Chairwoman Shirley Cate, President & CEO of Providence FCU in Milwaukie, Ore. “We tried to make sure we had a wide range of awards to offer, and make it as simple as possible for our members to nominate someone.”

For example, the application process now includes electronic applications as well as downloadable PDF files.

The committee was able to blend the previous award programs of the Credit Union Association of Oregon and the Washington Credit Union League with some ease because of the programs’ similarities.

“The Awards program will continue to be top notch, and we’re hoping for plenty of nominees for each award category,” Cate added.
