Redistricting

Bill Anderson

One of the important provisions of the merger agreement between the Washington Credit Union League and the Credit Union Association of Oregon was to provide consistent leadership for the merged Association. As part of the agreement, the NWCUA Board of Directors was charged with establishing policies and procedures designed to ensure a functional board that included proportional representation, with an election scheduled in late 2012.

First, membership voted to approve the plan proposed by the board-appointed task force that established new district boundaries and provided each credit union with two representatives—one representing an asset-size category and the other representing a geographic district. This structure of proportional representation was developed through conversation with members and substantial study, consideration and debate within the task force. NWCUA members were presented with the proposal though town hall meetings, dozens of one-on-one conversations and written communication.

With the new districts having been approved in a February membership vote, these online resources are provided for your continued convenience.

Thank you for your consideration,

Bill Anderson
